Refrigerated Angel Dessert

I have hundreds of favorite no-bake desserts this is one of them, I make this cake using my angel food cake but a baked store bought makes this a snap to prepare, if desired you may top with sweetened whipped cream instead of the Cool Whip topping, use your choice of blueberry, cherry or strawberry pie filling for this, plan ahead there is a 4 hour chilling time

Servings 8-10

Ingredients:

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 to 1-1/4 cups sifted confectioners sugar

2 (8-ounce) containers  Cool Whip frozen topping, thawed

1 prepared day-old angel food cake,  sliced into about 1-inch cubes

2 (21-ounce) cans pie filling (choice of strawberry  blueberry or cherry pie filling)

Instrctions:

In a large bowl beat the cream cheese with sugar until smooth and well combined; fold in one 8-ounce container of Cool Whip topping until smooth, then gently fold in the cake cubes.

Spread evenly into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

Top with lemon pie filling..

Spread remaining container of Cool Whip topping on the top.

Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before cutting into squares
