Taste Tester Notes; if omitting the chocolate chips you may want to increase the sugar amount slightly

Yield 35 cookies

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup butter softened

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, well packed (I use a mixture of light and brown sugar)

1 large egg

1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla (or use maple extract)

1 cup all-purpose flour

3 semi-heaping tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

1-1/4 cups rolled oats

1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS:———————————–

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease cookie sheet/s.

In a large bowl cream butter with both sugars and vanilla.

Add in egg and beat until thoroughly blended and creamy.

In a bowl combine the flour with baking cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; add to the creamed mixture beating on low speed until just combined.

Mix in oats and chocolate chips.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheet spacing about 2-inches apart.

Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Cool on on cookie sheet for 5-6 minutes then remove to wire racks to cool completely.

I just took these out of the oven, and they are SO chocolaty and satisfying. I only had white chocolate chips, so I used those, and they are really good. I made 18 larger cookies, and I plan to double the recipe next time :) Yum!

This recipe is one of the best, even when they’re burnt. lol I made up a batch and froze them into dough balls. We baked more last night, and even though we’d left them in the oven a little too long and they’d actually gotten burnt on both top and bottom, the center was delish. This is definitely a keeper. Thank you, Kittencal!!! xxxooo

These cookies are so good! I had to make another batch because they were disapearing too fast.

These are simply amazing! You’re getting the best of both worlds!! lol They are easy to make, and everyone in my family loves them. I put these in my Christmas cookie trays. Thanks so much Kitten! Made for Kitten’s 24 Days of Cookies event.
