These really “swell” so make certain that you have a large enough pot..

Yield 6 dumplings

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt (I use seasoned salt)

2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small cubes

3 to 4 teaspoons dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, optional

1/2 cup milk

INSTRUCTIONS:————————————————

In a bowl combine the flour with baking powder, salt, parsley and (if using)  garlic powder.

Using your fingers mix in the cold butter until crumbly.

Stir in the milk to create a soft dough.

Divide the mixture into 6 sections and place onto a plate.

Drop each section into simmering stew; cover and simmer for about 12-15 minutes (do not open the lid during cooking time!).
