I have made this many times it’s very good and can also be cooked in the oven…
Use 3/4-inch thick pork chops for this, for extra heat add in a finely chopped jalapeno pepper

Servings 6

Ingredients:

  • 8 center-cut pork chops
  • salt and pepper (I use seasoned salt)
  • 1 (3 pound) can pork and beans
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional

Instructions:————————————–

  1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add in pork chops and brown on both sides (about 3 minutes per side) set aside.
  4. In a bowl mix together the pork and beans, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, ketchup, brown sugar and cayenne pepper (if using).
  5. Spread half of the bean mixture on the bottom of crockpot
  6. Place the pork chops on top of the bean mixture.
  7. Top with remaining bean mixture.
  8. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, reduce heat to low and continue cooking for another 6 hours or until the chops are tender.
