Crockpot Baked Beans and Pork Chops
Servings 6
Ingredients:
- 8 center-cut pork chops
- salt and pepper (I use seasoned salt)
- 1 (3 pound) can pork and beans
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1/3 cup barbecue sauce
- 1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
Instructions:————————————–
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
- heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add in pork chops and brown on both sides (about 3 minutes per side) set aside.
- In a bowl mix together the pork and beans, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, ketchup, brown sugar and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Spread half of the bean mixture on the bottom of crockpot
- Place the pork chops on top of the bean mixture.
- Top with remaining bean mixture.
- Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, reduce heat to low and continue cooking for another 6 hours or until the chops are tender.
