Crockpot Brown and Wild Mushroom Rice

Taste Tester Notes; it is recommend not adding in any additional salt until the end of cooking, you will need a 3-quart capacity slow cooker for this

Servings 8

Ingredients:

2-1/4 cups water

1 (10-1/2 ounce) can beef consomme, undiluted

1 (10-1/2 ounce) can French onion soup, undiluted

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

3 (4-ounce) cans mushrooms stems and pieces, drained

1/2 cup melted butter

1 cup uncooked brown rice

1 cup uncooked wild rice

Instructions:————————————–

Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker.

Cover and cook on HIGH setting for 1 hour, then reduce to LOW setting and continue cooking for another 6-7 hours or until the rice is tender.
