Do not use the thin fast-fry pork chops for this

Servings 4

INGREDIENTS:

4 bone-in pork loin chops (3/4 inch thickness)

salt and fresh ground black pepper

oil, for browning

1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained

1 cup honey barbecue sauce

1/2 medium onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons mild chili sauce

INSTRUCTIONS:————————————-

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Season the pork chops lightly with salt and pepper, then brown on both sides (about 3 minutes per side).

In a small bowl combine the pineapple with it’s juice, barbecue sauce, onion, garlic and chili sauce until well combined.

Pour half the sauce into a greased 3-quart slow cooker.

Top with pork chops and then remaining sauce.

Cover and cook on low for 4-1/4 to 5-1/4 hours or until meat is tender.
